Any interest in Labyrinth: War on Terror? I would love to watch that!

I tried this one,but I didn’t enjoy the solo play that much. The A.I. was not really intersting. I was often in a situation where we struggled over a single country. We both did the same action turn after turn and I simply got bored after a while. I wished some new developments or surprises would have occurred more often. It felt quite static and lacked a storytelling element. This is probably different in multiplayer. Although I love theme, I still prefer the COIN series.

Grats on the webpage :)…I cannot wait for the temple of elemental evil 🙂

I wanted to ask, have you played legends of andor or defenders of the realm?

    • A lonesome Gamer says:

Haven´t tried Legends of Andor…heard that the replayability was not that high.
I was pretty disappointed by defenders and traded it away.
I prefer Pandemic, wich comes with a similiar mechanic but is in my opinion more streamlined and faster. It also has implemented the theme better (but again, only my personal opinion)

Thank you for the reply. I appreciate your opinion. Personally I don’t have much experience with board games, but it’s always fun to watch and learn.

Hi Lonesome Gamer, i love your videos and your tutorials. What about Pathfinder? Don’t you want to try this? I absolutely want to purchase this series of games. Greets from Belgium!

I don´t know…not such a fan of this long term cahracter development. If you don´t play this game really often, it makes not a lot of sense. And I´m afraid, I do not want to neglect my other games….:)

What are your thoughts on Kickstarter?

I have only supported one game so far (Xia), and my experience was that it took so long time (12-14 months), that I almost lost interest in the game before it finally arrived 🙂
(The campaign was fine, and the delay was reasonable – I just think I’m a impulsive buyer…)

    • mrBirk says:

(Maybe not impulsive, but impatient ;))

This is a complicated matter. I actually decided not to back anymore projects, except if they really blow me away. I’ve backed Neil Young’s Pono project with 5 bucks, simply because I think it’s a good thing. I backed Dark, Darker, Darkest, wich I regret, because they had stretch goals they never realised. Queen Games is a big company. I expect them to keep their promises, so I was pretty pissed. Shadows of Brimstone on the other hand came easily up to my expectations. Apex is another one I backed and until now,I don’t regret it. I hope it will arrive in the near future
Overall it seems that KS brings many companies to focus more on art, minis and quantity than on new, innovative ideas.

      • mrBirk says:

Yes, Shadows of Brimstone was one game I would have liked to back.
I agree that it seems to be more about the looks, than gameplay on kickstarter. Myth seems to be a scary example of that.
I also promised myself not to back any more games, but then I got drawn in by Conan… I love the R.E.Howard stories, and the games looks solid – especially the mechanisms for activating characters and using abilities seems really cool. Right now there are a ridiculous amount of stretch goals unlocked, so I just hope it won’t turn out as DDD.
