Look what arrived today!

Thanks to Jan from Berlin I received this package today:

It´s a deckbuilder in the Shadowrun universe. If your characters develope you´re supposed to put a sticker permanently on the character sheet. I could never do this, but I think there´ll be other sollutions 🙂  The art looks great, so maybe this is an alternative to Thunderstone Advanced.

Thanks again jan for your support!!

What do you think about the Legendary Encounters: An Alien Deckbuilding Game? It’s fully co-op, unlike Marvel Legendary

    • A lonesome Gamer says:

I don´t know…I´m not a great deckbuilding fan. Marvel seemed pretty boring to me, so I have my doubts about this one. Overall they seem to be pretty similiar…

I was just wondering what you thought of the game since you’re the co-op expert (amongst the reviewers 🙂

I owned and played Marvel and it was VERY boring and easy as a cooperative game. We even tried with th expansion (which was suppose to make the game impossible) and created the most difficult combinations we could think of and were still able too win pretty easily, even when the decks were stacked against us

That said, I’ve watched some Encounters playthroughs and the game seems to be more difficult and to scale better, but Marvel left a sour taste in my mouth and I don’t want to risk getting another easy game.

For now, I´m gonna check out Shadowrun Crossfire. In addition, I backed Apex – The Deckbuilding Game, wich looks fantastic. I also have Thunderstone advanced in my shelf, although I´m already thinking about trading this away (or I´ll end up with all the expansions…collector´s fate). I think, two or three good deckbuilders is enough for my collection 🙂

I expect to play my first Shadowrun: Crossfire game on Thursday 🙂

First I must apologize, I was not a backer of Apex Theropod, but I have the game. Really not a good thing when retail buyers can get the game before backers. Even here in the U.S. it was delayed to backers while on sale at a couple of online stores.

Second, I think this is a fine deck builder. Far different than many I have played. It’s a challenge and the theme is strong. There are some fuzzy parts of the rulebook, but you can find an Unofficial FAQ at BGG that really is helpful.

            + Leobyn
it´s good to hear that it´s a fine game! In this specific case, I´m not so terribly excited, so waiting a few weeks longer is fine with me!

  • Leobyn says:

This is a very fun game, but be prepared to take a beating. Its very difficult! I have been playing for some time and have only earned one sticker on each of my 4 Runners. I’m not a very good player, but I also think that this is by far the most difficult Deck Builder I have played, but I really enjoy it. I hope you do, too.

Thanks. I´ve got nearly no experiance with Deck Builders (except for MAge Knight, wich comes with some deckbuilding mechanic), so I might have a hard time…

I’ve been waiting forever to see this one.

It´s funny…this wasn´t on my radar at all. I´m completely new to this universe, so I´m really curious what to expect…

Can’t wait for your first video. I love your playthroughs!!
