An attempt to save N.Y. in 60 minutes…Chainsaw Warrior session
So I´m actually posting while playing, so this game might turn out to be terribly boring, but I kinda wanna do this live…
My random warrior turned out to be a real tank: endurance 23, health 17…just amazing values. On the other hand, he completely sucks in hand to hand combat: only a 7. I hoped to compensate that with his great reflexes of 10, wich is great for ranged combat, but his terrible marksmanship of -2 ruins it all.
His special skill is strength, wich at least gives him an additional HtH point.
Luckily he´s got a carrying limit of 8, wich will ensure him some cool equipment. I ended up with a combat shotgun and Man to Man rockets. Both pretty devastating weapons! As a hand to hand weapon I have the Cyber Neutral Electron Scrambler, wich kills everything, but you also take some wounds. Might be very useful still, beacuse of my high health. Finally I have I/R goggles and the Chameleon suit. The latter gives me the sneak ability!
First card, first enemy, first bite….:( If things go on like this, it´s over soon….
Next we face a door…it takes us two of our valuable shotgun shells to destroy it 🙁
Three minutes after entering the building, we encounter a magnetic field. That´s not terrible, but for the next 8 minutes we can´t use the Cyber Neutral Electron Scrambler (CNES), wich might become a problem…
Fuck!! We´re in trouble…a Lunatic jumped at me and ran away with my Laser Lance, wich is the only weapon that kills darkness! Seems like we have to go back and get another one…
On my way back, I got barbed in a wire…while I´m still trying to get free, a zombie comes by. I´m hoping for my Chameleon Suite, but he turns right to me, so I have to spend another shotgun shell to blow his head away.
A Chaos Agent runs at me!!
I just manage to raise the shotgun and to stop him before he can do his sucide attack.
Now I even face a Mutant Thing…time to use my Man to Mutant rocket!! Good shot, but I took 5 rad damage.
Finally made it out of the building…just to go back again. They gave me a new Laser Lance and the Stun Nux, a great HtH weapon!
Overall this did cost me 13 minutes…and I´m more or less at the beginning again 🙁
So back in! It´s looking better this time. I manage to kill a few zombies wit the Stun Nux and to hide from another. But 3 minutes after I entered the building a second time, I nearly fell into a Chasm!! This is a dead end….back again!! What a frustrating game!!
On the way back, I detect again a magnetic field. It seems, for the next 8 minutes, I cannot use my Stun Nux.
A Cave In!! Even my amazing reflexes couldn´t save me here. In addition to a wound, I also lose my CNES…destroyed by the falling rocks.
Without the Stun Nux working, I cannot risk Hand to Hand combat, so I had to shoot the next 3 zombies and waste precious ammo.
Made it out to the street again, where it took me 2 more minutes to get some short treatment from the doc and some spare clips for my weapons. Again I enter the building…the third time!! Speaking of time: 25 minutes are lost already and I´m still starting again 🙁
Another Zomie attacks. This time I cannot hit him with the shot gun, and before I can knock him down, I got bitten again. Luckily this has no additional consequences except one wound and a little Zombie venom.
Damn, I fell into a spiked pit. The pain is bad, what´s worse though is the time I´ve lost….it took me 6 more minutes to get out again!!
The night has now fallen and it´s getting dark inside the building. Luckily we have our I/R goggles!
Another pretty bad fight where I took two wounds and venom, and once again a door: It took me two shots again to open it. The next attacking zombie has caused a pretty bad wound at my arm…it´ll make aiming even harder than before!
I find myself trapped in a net and have to use my Laser Lance to cut myself free.
Great! I found some ammo for the shot gun…at least something. But the clock is ticking: only 15 minutes left!!
While running through a corridor, I hear a metallic sound, rattling around the corner…moments later I´m facing a horrific sight: the Meat Machine!! —Thanks to my refelxes I manage to fire a rocket before this thing gets to close. While running through the smoke, I hear some scrap metal falling from the ceiling. no time to stop!!
I found a secret passage wich grants me a massive shortcut (11 cards!!).
Again facing a powerful Mutant Thing, but my rockets are just so amazing. Luckily I still have some extra!
The whole building is threatening to collapse!! Right after I ran through a room, the whole floor fell one level deeper.
From time to time, I kill Zombies with my Stun Nux…but this seems not even worth mentioning…if I´m lucky, I manage to hide from them. In this way, I just avoided three of the Living Dead in a row. (3 times a six!!)
Ten minutes left! It seems like I´d need 5 more minutes to leave the first building (if there are no surprises) so that leaves me 5 minutes to find and kill Darkness, wich is somewhere in the second building 🙁
Again I´m facing a suicide agent. This time I don´t take any chances: I use my rockets right away, so he could neither give me wounds or destroy any of my items. Pretty sure I got enough ammo for he last minutes.
I found more ammo for the Laser Lance. If I face Darkness, I´d now have 5 attempts to hit.
Attacked by another Zombie (strength 9). Missed with the shotgun. The following Hand to Hand fight did cost me 2 wounds and a minute 🙁
Made it through the first building!!! 3 minutes left. There is still hope….
I realized that reloading the Rocket Launcher would take too much time, so I´m using only my Shotgun now…still good enough for another Zombie!
Mines…they´re everywhere in this room. Again, my amazing reflexes save me.
One minute ….!!
The last thing our hero sees, is the face of this guy, a flash of light and then it´s over….Darkness has destroyed New York!!
